Originally known as “kha-chot-parli” meaning (the heaven of Padmasambhava) is a lake located 147km west of Gangtok- Sikkim. It’s scared for both the buddhist and hindus, also believed to be a wish fulfilling lake. The lake is enveloped in a lush greenery and dense forest cover. The lake has a shape of a foot.

Was the second capital of the former kingdom of Sikkim from 1670 to 1814 being destroyed by the invading Gurkha army and only the ruins of the palace, chortens(stupa) are seen now. Explore the remnants of palaces and monasteries while soaking in panoramic views of the valley.

Built in 1697 is the oldest monastery also known as place of secret spells. The literal meaning of Sanga Choeling is “ island of the Guhyamantra teachings”. The monastery’s location provides very scenic and panoramic view all around. Nearby the glass bottomed skywalk is also famous and the attraction here is the statue of Chenrezig (Avalokitesvara).
