Lachen
It a town in Mangan north district of Sikkim. The name Lachen means “big pass”. Situated at the altitude of 8838 ft. & about 129 km away from the capital Gangtok having its unique form of self-governance called Dzumsa and base to Chopta valley and Gurudogmar Lake . Lachen is less populated also famous as the gateway to the scared Gurudongmar lake & Tso Lhamu lake. Its nautral beauty .
Discovering Tranquillity in the Enchanting Village of Lachung
It’s a small hill nestled in the Himalayas of north Sikkim, at an altitude of 9600 ft. about 125 km from the capital Gangtok. Lachung is at the confluence of the lachen and Lachung rivers both of which are the tributaries of Teesta. Winters the small town is usually covered with snow, it’s also the base camp for Rhodrodendron valley Trek which starts from Yumthang valley and ends at Lachen Valley. The valley is also known for its waterfalls, pine forests and hot springs.
For those in pursuit of a winter wonderland, Lachung serves as the gateway to Zero Point, a snow-covered landscape near the Indo-China border. The journey to Zero Point is an adventure in itself, traversing through snow-clad roads, offering panoramic views of the Himalayas, and leaving travellers mesmerised by the stark beauty of the high-altitude terrain.

Yumthang Valley
Yumthang Valley, also known as the valley of flowers, nestled in Lachung at an altitude of 11693 ft. and also home to Singba Rhodrodendron Sanctuary having 24 species of the rhodrodendron flowers, the states national flower. The valley renowned for its natural beauty, lush alpine meadows & vibrant flowers becomes a popular sight and a famous tourist destination.
Zero Point
Zero Point, located in North Sikkim, is a breathtaking destination nestled amidst the majestic Himalayas. Situated at an altitude of around 15,300 feet (4,665 meters) above sea level, Zero Point is the last outpost accessible by road in North Sikkim and offers visitors a surreal and awe-inspiring experience amidst pristine natural beauty. Zero Point is renowned for its panoramic vistas of the snow-capped peaks of the Himalayas, including the majestic Kanchenjunga, the third highest peak in the world. The expansive views of the towering mountains against the clear blue sky create a mesmerizing spectacle that leaves visitors in awe. Gurudongmar Lake
one of the highest lake in the world at an altitude of 17800ft. nested in the great Himalayas. It lies in the north side of Khangchengyao Range the lake takes its name after the eminent Guru Padmashambhava who, is believed to have traversed this region during his visit to Tibet.
